The cherry blossoms make everybody go crazy. The weekend that the blossoms are in full bloom the Japanese gather underneath the trees to have massive picnics accompanied with lots and lots of sake. Picnic spots are furnished with a floor made of cardboard boxes and topped off with blue plastic. The tables are also made out of these boxes and just like at home people take their shoes off before stepping on the blue plastic.
