The welfare system in Japan is rather strict, once employees have lost their jobs they only receive an unemployment benefit for 6 months. Lots of people havenít found a new position in this short period and soon loose their house as well. The place where they find refuge is in the parks, here they build little houses mostly made of blue plastic. The homeless are often quite domestic, they make the best of their dwellings by caring for potted plants and giving the place a good swipe with a broom.
